“Joint International Conference on Sustainable Rice Cultivation and Vegetable Science & Innovation ”
Vanue: Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel,
Nonthaburi, Thailand
Date: 24 October 2025
Background
Rice and vegetables are two fundamental components of global food systems, particularly across Asia. As the challenges of climate change, resource scarcity, and population growth intensify, there is a growing need for sustainable innovations in both rice cultivation and vegetable production. While research and development in these areas have progressed, interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of innovation across crop types remain limited.
This Joint International Conference is co-organised by Thailand Rice Science Research Hub of Knowledge (Hub of Rice) and Hub of Talents for Thai Vegetable Seeds (Veg-SeedHub), both funded by National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). The event is designed to showcase the outputs of these research hubs and foster cross-crop learning experiences that enhance scientific collaboration and agricultural development.
By bringing together researchers, policy makers, development agencies, farmers, and the private sector, this conference promotes knowledge exchange, highlights innovations, and builds strategic alliances for the future of sustainable agriculture. The synergy between rice and vegetable systems offers opportunities for integrated farming, climate-smart practices, and value-added products that support both food security and rural livelihoods.
The conference aims to:
1. Facilitate dialogue and collaboration between rice and vegetable researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders.
2. Showcase recent scientific advances, technologies, and innovations in sustainable rice and vegetable production.
3. Address challenges related to climate resilience, seed systems, soil and water management, pest and disease control, and market access.
4. Create a platform for future partnerships and joint research initiatives.
