การหารือในครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นไปที่การวางรากฐานความร่วมมือในโครงการวิจัยในอนาคต ซึ่งเป็นการบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ด้านนวัตกรรมข้าวและเทคโนโลยีการเกษตรระหว่างสองสถาบันชั้นนำ เพื่อยกระดับการผลิตข้าวให้มีประสิทธิภาพและยั่งยืนท่ามกลางความท้าทายของสภาวะภูมิอากาศโลก
นอกจากการประชุมหารือด้านวิชาการแล้ว ยังได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมชม ศูนย์เรียนรู้วิถีชีวิตและจิตวิญญาณชาวนาไทย (นาเฮียใช้) จังหวัดสุพรรณบุรี ศึกษาการบริหารจัดการพื้นที่เรียนรู้ด้านข้าวที่เป็นต้นแบบสำคัญของประเทศ การดูแลจัดการปลูกขยายพันธุ์ข้าว อันเป็นหัวใจสำคัญในการพัฒนางานวิจัยที่ สามารถส่งต่อไปใช้ประโยชน์ได้จริงในพื้นที่
ความร่วมมือระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์และมหาวิทยาลัยโตเกียวในครั้งนี้ ถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนนวัตกรรมข้าวไทยสู่เวทีโลก

Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University Welcomes Professor from The University of Tokyo to Forge Major International Research Collaboration
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center at Kasetsart University, officially welcomed Prof. Toru Fujiwara from The University of Tokyo, Japan. The visit aimed to strengthen academic ties and discuss ongoing and future research collaborations with the Rice Science Center.
The primary focus of this meeting was the strategic planning of an upcoming research Project. This collaboration seeks to integrate advanced rice innovations and agricultural technologies from both world-class institutions, aiming to enhance rice production efficiency and sustainability in response to global climate challenges.
Following the technical discussions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret accompanied Prof. Fujiwara on a field visit to the Thai Farmers’ Lifestyle and Spiritual Learning Center (Na Hia Chai) in Suphan Buri Province. This visit provided an immersive experience into the heart of Thai rice culture and traditional farming practices. It also showcased Thailand's model for agricultural learning centers, offering vital socio-cultural context that will inform and ground future joint research efforts for practical, real-world application.
This partnership between Kasetsart University and The University of Tokyo marks a significant milestone in propelling Thai rice innovation onto the global stage.
